On the Pathway to Glory: Victorian Walking Football Squad Gears Up for Sydney!
The golden Victorian sunshine broke through today, Saturday 19 September, just in time to match the blazing energy of our Walking Football squad as they hit the pitch today. With the countdown officially down to just three weeks until the highly anticipated WFFA Cup in Sydney, the excitement is palpable and the momentum is truly building!
And can we take a moment to appreciate how sharp they look in their official Victorian kit? There is something undeniably powerful about pulling on those colours—it represents unity, hard work, and the pride of our entire state.
Today’s session marked a crucial milestone: likely their second-to-last hit-out before the squad packs their bags (or hits the highway) to embark on their journey to Sydney. Every pass, every tackle, and every tactical drill right now is fine-tuning the engine on this pathway to glory.
None of this incredible preparation would be possible without the tireless dedication of our age-group captains. We want to extend our deepest appreciation to Rudy for steering the 50s squad, Paul for guiding the 60s, and Jim for leading the 70s. Their hard work behind the scenes has been instrumental in getting our squads match-ready and united to this point.
The clock is ticking down, the preparation is intense, and this team is ready to show everyone what Victoria is made of. Let’s get behind our squad and our fantastic captains as they make every final training session count!
