WFFL Hits the Boards in Bundoora for Edition 7!

The Walking Football Friendship League (WFFL) brought high energy and friendly competition to La Trobe Indoor Stadium on Wednesday for our seventh exciting round.

Five teams took to the court, each tackling at least four fast-paced matches. We were delighted to welcome Luke, the new Walking Football representative from Football Victoria (FV), who jumped straight into the action. He stepped off the pitch thoroughly impressed (and nicely worked up a sweat!), remarking on both the fitness levels of the games and the fantastic skill on display.

The session was packed with spectacular saves, brilliant goals, and impressive individual footwork. Beyond the scores, it gave players of all ages a great opportunity to test their game against some of Victoria’s best talent.

Stepping Up to the Mark A huge shoutout goes to the five new and untested captains who stepped up to lead their teams in action this round—they all passed with flying colours! A massive thank you to each of you for helping out and making running the WFFL games that much easier.

Can the WFFL get even bigger and better? Absolutely. With FV and Luke on board, the possibilities for expanding walking football across the community are endless.

What’s Next? We are currently hunting for a suitable venue for our next session, tentatively scheduled for September 23 or 30. We will let you know as soon as we know.
