When Walking Football Takes Priority Over Rain!

On Wednesday, July 29, 25 brave Walking Football souls braved the wild Melbourne weather to kick off Round 6 of the Walking Football Friendship League (WFFL) at the Knox Football Centre.

While numbers were a bit lighter this round due to absences and injuries, it did nothing to cool down the action. The football played on Knox’s multi-field facility was nothing short of brilliant!

With nine fenced, ready-to-play pitches perfectly sized for WFFL, Knox proved to be an ideal venue. The facility was so impressive that it left many asking: Could this become the permanent home of the WFFL? We’ll leave that decision to our WF Hub Leaders, but Knox certainly set a high standard!

Round 6 Highlights

• Round-Robin Action: Players split into four groups for a spirited series of self-refereed matches.

• Friendly & Fair Play: As always, every game was played in a great spirit and ended with big smiles.

• Skill on the Rise: The level of football on the pitch continues to improve noticeably every single round!

• State Pride: A few players proudly showed off their new Victorian state kits, fresh out of the mail this week—adding extra excitement as anticipation builds for the WFFA Cup this October!
